Thomas Jacks Symposium Area – Hosted by Pace Brothers

Thomas Jacks Symposium Area – Hosted by Pace Brothers
13th April 2018 Northern Shooting Show

This year we are bringing you our biggest interactive talk and discussion area yet. To coincide with the show’s values of trying to encourage understanding of shooting & hunting, we wanted to have an area which has a strong message of educating visitors through informal talks, demos & discussions on various shooting & hunting disciplines along with current topical issues.

The area will be held under an impressive authentic Norwegian Urt complete with straw bales allowing you to really kick back and take in the ambiance. You will have the opportunity to watch, listen, learn & take part in what promises to be a real melting pot of carefully selected influential contributors from around the world.

The Symposium area is kindly sponsored by Thomas Jacks and will be hosted by the popular Pace Brothers. Darryl & Byron will be compe’ring events throughout the weekend with a comprehensive timetable of events.

Darryl & Byron will be doing a live podcast each day with a high profile panel discussing topical hunting and shooting issues relevant at the time with questions from the audience.

Key speakers already committed are Peter Carr talking about the anti-poaching efforts that are currently going on in Uganda, Devan Delange & Rachel Carrie will be following up talking about their experiences in hunting & in particular, hunting in Africa. The Chief Curator to the Royal Armouries will be doing a talk on an antique military revolver.

Thomas jacks will be demonstrating some of relevant products and explaining how they can benefit you in the field. They will be on hand to answer questions on product technical information.

BASC will be offering a workshop to give shooters a chance to talk face to face about current shooting issues. Jason Doyle will give his experiences on hunting in the emerald Isle followed by Sam Thompson on stalking and management. Cai ap Bryn is back by popular demand (mainly for his venison kebabs) to demonstrate how to skin and butcher a deer correctly. This was a very popular attraction last year so make sure to get there early, Cai will then be putting his own twist on preparing the meat with a modern take of a kebab and then selling the cooked venison to visitors.

Roger Lait will be explaining Hunter Field Target (HFT) and how anyone can get involved in this fun and dynamic sport. Members of the fifty calibre club will be on hand to chat and answer questions about long range shooting and competitions.

We still have more to add but not quite confirmed as yet, please keep refreshing your browser here to see the latest news. The full timetable of events will be on the homepage nearer the show and on our social media platforms and this information will also be found in our FREE showguide which is kindly sponsored by Leupold optics.

Remember to get involved in Q&A sessions, it will be an incredible opportunity to speak to the experts in their field!
