HFT Masters proves to be a BIG Success.
14th September 2016 Northern Shooting Show

What a fantastic turn out we had for our first HFT Masters Northern Shooting Show Championship. The Saturday was ‘Come & try it for free’ day. This was an ideal opportunity to spread the word of HFT & show the basics of this dynamic sport to anyone that hadn’t tried it before. Ian Bainbridge & Roger Lait who organise HFT Masters were a bit apprehensive as to visitor numbers, which was understandable based on the fact it was a first show & we didn’t know how many visitors were going to turn up.

Roger said: “The doors opened on the first day & boy did they come & in their thousands, & to think I was worried that we wouldn’t be busy. We were flat out all day”

Sunday was competition day. Ian had done his work meticulously and put on a very testing course, highlighted by the beautiful back drop of the Grouse Butt, pond & wooded area. We couldn’t ask for a better day & it proved to be a very challenging course when the wind got up, some saying the course bordered on ‘evil’.

With only a few entrants truly taming the course, the top score on the day was 56, certainly something to be proud of in that wind, and Dave Taylor showed us all the way.

“The day was fantastic, and the weather made it even better, but the crowds who came along to the show made the whole thing for me. The place was heaving and it’s always nice to have a crowd when you’re shooting.”

The HFT Masters Series are proud to have been asked to attend the show & are counting the days until next year’s event.
