We are excited to announce the launch of a new specialist area called Deer Focus, for this years show. The area will be specific to everything deer related including hunting & stalking along with deer management.
The Yorkshire region is rich in stalking land prompting local land-owners to see the benefit of deer management. To coincide with the show’s values of trying to encourage understanding of shooting, Deer Focus has a strong message of educating visitors with the ‘food to fork’ story being explained through practical interactive areas to get involved with and hopefully educate them more to the benefits of hunting and reattaching them as to where their food comes from.
The area will also have everything covered for the seasoned hunter/stalker. Zeiss Optics elevated 4m demo platform looking across the valley allows their products to be tested hands on ‘in the field’, Cai Ap Bryn will be demonstrating how to skin and butcher a deer correctly then putting his own twist on preparing the meat with a modern take of a kebab then selling the cooked venison to visitors.
Relevant associations such as British Deer Society, BASC, SACS, UKDTR & NGO will be present offering member benefits along with CIC & BASC trophy measuring services.
Mike Thornley of BASC will be offering a head & pluck deer gland check demo. Test whether you would ‘take the shot’ on a simulated stalk & safety walk through the trees on static targets and get information & talks on DSC courses by the BDS.
Viking Arms will be offering the perfect kill shot masterclass on their realistic Simway simulator with a nominal entry fee with all proceeds being generously donated to The Gamekeepers Welfare Trust.
A full range of new and used rifles from leading manufacturers and retailers will be available in the hall in very close proximity. Specialist clothing and stalking accessories from popular exhibitors such as Best Deer Call, Nomad Clothing, Keith Watson High Seats, Bush Wear, Stalkers UK, Macintyre & Thompson, Stalkers Dream, Polaris ATV’s & Fisher Game Larders make up the area & to cap it off the demonstration and presentation stage will be hosted by the popular Pace Brothers. Darryl & Byron will be doing a live podcast each day with a high profile panel discussing topical hunting and shooting issues relevant at the time with questions from the audience.
Last but not least we are excited we can now announce we will be holding the first UK Red Stag Call Competition at the show, brought to you by Best Deer Call.
